Igbo Traditional Wedding

Do you know you can be as lucky as marrying an Igbo man?. Igbos are known to take very good care of their wives. So let me gist you about the process, you might be having an Igbo traditional wedding next.
First and foremost, the groom has to search for the woman of his choice,he states his intention to his family before he is being accompanied to the lady's family house. There they discuss their main reason for coming, as usual the lady's family will not give them reply.
Before their next meeting the two families investigate one another to be sure if the family is good enough for their children. Then, during the meeting the groom's family comes with kola nuts, palm wine, and soft drinks. After little discussion the bride-to-be family gives them the Bride price list.

During the ceremony, the bride carries palm wine to her husband, this process is always tricky because most people wear the same attire and some of the males there beg the bride to give them the wine,of course, the bride knows her husband. When she sees him, she present the palm wine to him while kneeling. Then they are married traditionally.
There is also a nuptial dance where the couple dances while the family, friends and well wishers wishes them prosperity by either throwing them money or putting bills on their forehead
