Yam lovers where are you?🙋I just have to share this so you will know you have your day on the Igbo's calendar.      This event usually happen after the rainy season in early August. It symbolizes the conclusion of an harvest and beginning of a new one.Yam is the first crop to be harvested which is very important to the people of this particular region.     On the eve of this event specifically towards the evening, all the old yam are consumed or discarded, because they believe the new year should start with tasty and newly harvested yam not the old dried one of the previous year.
